All freezers at the Center, which contain bio-resources, can automatically switch over to an emergency power supply, enabling unimpaired storage even in the event of a power outage.
In addition, the internal temperature is recorded 24 hours a day using a temperature monitor, and the person in charge responds quickly when an abnormality is detected by a monitoring system.
In addition, we have a system in which some of the stored bio-resources are regularly backed-up by being sent to external facilities for storage and management, to prevent sample loss due to unforeseen events.

In March 2020, we installed the Clinical Bio-Resource Processing Robot System (BRAHMS Bio-Resource Auto High quality Management System), and plasma isolation and DNA extraction were automatically performed from clinical bio-resources with high accuracy. This system improves the stability of long-term sample storage, and quality control is implemented for each process.
Since only the blood collection tubes are placed in a dedicated rack in the device and such tubes are not touched by a person after sampling, not only quality control but also safety is ensured.
Reliable storage of clinical bio-resources, automation of entries and releases, and data-bases have further improved the work efficiency.

The main characteristic of BRAHMS is the automated repository.
Biospecimen transport and tube removal operations are performed at sites below -20℃, allowing the storage and dispensing of clinical bio-resources of higher quality than possible in the past.
